The final Round of the Asian On road Championship 2013 was held at Yatabe Arena on 23-24 November in Japan. Results and video.
The Final round of the Asian Onroad Championship, produced by Scotty Ernst, took place this past weekend at the historic Yatabe Arena. Yatabe known as the most historic venue in all of RC Racing were host to the final round. A total of 161 entires
joined in the AOC from 12 different countries around the world and that made for a very international feel to the final round. 4 World Champions were in attendance: Andy Moore, Hayato Matsuzaki, Naoto Matsukura, and Meen Vejrak.
Formula 1 Rubber has been run at every AOC Round but in Japan F1 Foam is more popular and so this was also added to the program. 9 drivers competed in the F1 Rubber class and 19 in F1 Foam. The top 10 results for each class are as follows.
Roman Pichler (TOP) took out F1 Rubber:
1/12 World Champion Naoto Matsukura (Yokomo) won the foam class:
This very cool event summary video says it all. It has quite a few shots of F1's including the podiums:
A final word from the organiser Scotty Ernst:
The concept of the AOC is much like other events that I produce. We try to focus not on the rules and regulations of racing but the fun and excitement we can have racing the hobby we all love so much. Simple rules that allow everyone to have fun, make new
friends and enjoy the hobby.
As we look back on the opening year of the AOC we visited some very exciting countries, made many new friends who share the same passion I do for racing and worked with some great sponsors and tracks to hold exciting events. I want to thank all
our sponsors who shared in the belief I had that we could bring the AOC to life and give everyone a chance to race in a different kind of series and help them enjoy the hobby.
Thanks to X RAY, TOP, YOKOMO, LEESPEED, RIDE, ORCA, HOT BODIES, VIPER, ARC, HOBBYWING, SERPENT, PARDUS, GRAVITY RC, LIVERC.COM, THIS IS RC.COM, RC SCORING PRO AND MYLAPS.
Next years schedule is almost set and we will again take the AOC to exciting locations throughout Asia and the Paci?c and show racers how much fun they can have when they race in the Asian Onroad Championships.
