Dave Stevens started this site in 2012 and as at October 2018 we had received more than 5,700,000 page views.
In the early years, we were the only dedicated RC F1 website and we are still the most read.
Dave started racing RC cars in 2007 with his son Aaron and enjoyed the many race days spent together.
At the start of 2012 Dave bought a Tamiya F104 X1 and was surprised at how difficult it was to find information on how to setup and drive F1 cars. This site went live in June 2012 so that F1 enthusiasts have the information they need to maximise their enjoyment of this fantastic class. We do not sell any kind of RC products and never will. We bring you an independent view of the hobby.
One of the inhibitors to growing the F1 class in Australia was the lack of a national set of rules for F1 racers. Dave worked with racers and clubs throughout Australia to rectify this and these rules are still administered by RC Formula1 today. You can read the rules, and about the process used to create them, here.
Dave has been published in a number of magazines including his regular column in Racing Lines magazine. He also flies RC planes, plays Dungeons & Dragons, writes fantasy fiction, and generally has far too many hobbies :)
Dave manages Property Advance, a company that subdivides land and builds houses for clients.
He lives in Melbourne, Australia with his wife and sons.
